One of the things that makes my haunt unique is that I make a lot of my props. Some have been easy, some difficult but all have been enjoyable and have added to my displays over the years. And it's always been important to me do do things economically (I come from a long line of trash-pickers). A prop can be made from almost anything, so keep your eyes and mind open at yard sales, thrift stores and on trash pick-day for ideas and raw materials. (...think - 'that beat-up old lamp would look great in the funeral parlor'...) Some of my "found" items include the Torture Chair basket chair, an old wood/metal footlocker where I display the potions, and the box I used to make the Standee. Common props available at most thrift stores include candle holders, jars, white sheets and sheer curtains.
